Getting Your Photos Into Albums With Some Great Scrapbook Ideas

Everyone loves to take pictures, but what do you do once you’ve taken those pictures? Putting them together into a scrapbook is a great idea! Scrapbooking is fun on your own or in a group with others. If you’re feeling stumped about where to get started, I’ve come up with seven fun and exciting scrapbook ideas that are sure to spark your creativity!

Children’s Books: You can create a separate scrapbook for each child in your family. No matter what age they are, children will love to help you with this project. They’ll love looking at it and showing it off to others. Kids love hearing stories about themselves so put down some of your favorite memories about them in their book.

Family Trips: If you went on a special vacation as a family within the past year or two you can make it its own book. You can catalog your trip day by day and tell a story with the scrapbook in a fun way. Adding embellishments and stickers that match the city or feel of the trip is lots of fun.

Holidays: Holidays are a great way to sort photos. Easter can be a scrapbook, and so can Christmas. Simply record your memories by holiday. Don’t worry about filling up a book all at once. You can add photos each year to make a holiday themed album.

School Pictures and Drawings: Like the children’s book idea you can make a school scrapbook for each child in your family. These books not only hold pictures but little mementos children bring home from school such a papers and drawings. You can even buy special pouches to hold items specially designed for items such as this. Or to save space, scan those big items into your computer or take photos of them and make a digital scrapbook. Your child may want to help you make their book too and they can give it their own personal touch.

Events: A theater buff or a sports fanatic will take a lot of pictures. If you ride horses all the time you can sort them by activity and make a book for it. Don’t think that if you don’t have enough pictures to complete a book that you cannot start a scrapbook and add to it later. There is no rule that you cannot have an incomplete book and add memories as you go!

Pictures from Extended Family and Friends: You get Christmas cards with photos and school pictures from other children. Making a friends and family scrapbook is a great way to keep them safe and in one place. When you receive pictures such as these, and take them off the fridge, you can put them in a scrapbook rather than in a drawer. Better yet, scan them in and add them to a digital scrapbook and you’ll reduce the clutter even more!

Extra Pictures: Double prints are great to put into a mini album and give to others as gifts. Every grandparent will appreciate this gift of their grandchildren over the years. And having a mini album means they can take it with them to show off their grandchildren to friends.

Scrapbook ideas are endless. When you feel stuck and don’t know what direction to go in, try sorting out the pictures by event, holiday or individuals. It will help you get started and get your imagination flowing.
